Did you know it’s National Apprenticeship Week?
It’s the opportunity to celebrate the impact of apprenticeships on the individuals involved, employers and the wider economy.
At Solo, we have two current apprentices, Emily and Hannah, as well as Ryan and Rosie who graduated from their apprenticeships a few years back. Emily and Hannah are a few months into their Business Administration apprenticeships, whilst Rosie is a qualified accountant and Ryan is a design technician.
Solo are proud employers of apprentices for the host of benefits they bring to the company. The variety they bring to the workforce, along with their dynamism and youthful enthusiasm is brilliant and really adds to the culture of the business.
In her final year, Rosie (pictured) was Apprentice of the Year for 2018 and had this to say about her experience:
“My apprenticeship has given me a great start to my career and I’m really pleased to have done it with Solo. It’s a really different business and the industry we are in keeps it interesting. The team are also what make it a great place to work.”
Hannah, who started as a Business Administrator Apprentice in October is pleased with her choice to work for Solo:
“I’m really enjoying my apprenticeship at Solo so far! It’s given me a brilliant insight into business life and I’m keen to learn more about other parts of the business.”

What they bring to the business is fantastic, especially to us as a small company.

Caroline Ryder, Director of Solo Containment added:
“We feel it is important to give young people an opportunity. What they bring to the business is fantastic, especially to us as a small company. Rosie and Ryan have really grown with the business and we’re proud of their achievements and what they bring to the Solo dynamic. We can’t wait to see how Hannah and Emily grow as well – they have both got off to a great start with us.”
